Learning Christ

Wrestling With God

It only took 24 years to finally quite wrestling with God about sharing a big part of my faith journey, my two children. They are the light of my life. My son Nick has autism, but worked so hard to manage it. By God’s beautiful grace and mercy Nick proved everyone wrong. He managed to get a college degree and is an engineer for an energy company. He is married to a beautiful woman and has several children. I am so proud of him! The battle he fought to get there was unbelievable. So many people treated him poorly and had no encouragement for him. But God did. He led Nick to a wonderful Catholic high school in Latonia, Kentucky that introduced him to some very wonderful, kind and loving young. I am ever so grateful to them for their charity of heart in welcoming him as a brother in Christ.

My daughter Nicole was taken away from me by a doctor who thought she was being kind, but did not due what was right and just. No one has the right to terminate another person’s life. Only God has that right. He is the creator. I felt guilty for something I did not do and took on the weight of the the doctor’s choice in my heart for so long. I pray to her every day asking her to help and especially for the unborn children that are aborted. My doctor lied to me because she thought she was being merciful as my daughter had attached to the tip of my cervix, which was dangerous. I had no idea what was going on. She said she had to remove a cyst. I forgive this doctor. I hope my story about how the loss of my daughter impacted my life and how God used my motherhood and relationship with my son to hold on to me.

There is not greater love than to lay down your life for another and this is what Jesus did in order to save me and everyone else. He gives us strength for the journey in the Most Blessed Sacrament, which is the True Presence of Christ, head to toe, finger tip to finger tip, body, blood soul and divinity of Jesus Christ, The Savior and Son of God, part of the Holy Trinity. He comes to us in the Most Holy Eucharist as True God and True Man. If you would like to learn more about my story, check my new book Gridiron Faith, which I just published. It was actually the first book I wrote before the publication of my previous book, Walking on Water, which was published in 2018. Let me share with you what God has done for me and help to open your eyes to see what he is doing for you. Both publications are available in paperback and ebook and are available from several retailers, including Amazon and my Lulu self-publishing Bookstore. If you are not a reader give the podcast a try it is called Catholic SALT. I share much of my faith journey in the podcast episodes. I just posted one titled Walking On Holy Ground. Faith is so important and we cannot walk on water without staying focused on Jesus. Trust me I know!
