Catholic SALT Ministry

LEARNING HOW TO STAY FOCUSED ON THE TRUE PRESENCE OF CHRIST

About the Catholic SALT ministry

Being the Salt of the Earth and the Light of the World

The Catholic SALT (CSALT) ministry stems for a faith journey traveled for many long years in the Catholic faith seeking truth and wondering around in the darkness until one day my eyes were opened a little…then a little…then a little more. The name CSALT was initially inspired by Saint Pope John Paull II’s final World Youth Day 2002 blessing, which took place in Canada:

“Dear young people the time has come to say goodbye. It is time for us to return to our daily paths and just as salt adds savour, may we bring the flavour of this day to our family and friends, to our work, our studies and our leisure. The time has come for us to make today’s message a part of our everyday life. In your backpacks, each of you was given a wooden cross. Now is the time to put on that cross; look to it and you will be the light of the world. Learn from that cross, the heart of Christian life and you will be the salt of the earth. As you journey through life towards the Kingdom my apostolic blessing accompanies you always!”

Saint Pope John Paul II 2002 World Youth Day Final Blessing

Catholic SALT or CSALT – is a Latin acronym: Catholicam Substentata Adultus Liberis Terrae and stands for Catholic Supported Adult Children of the Earth. It’s roots stem from a journey of many years of prayer seeking a deeper relationship with the True Presence of Christ and the hope to believe and understand that Christ is Truly Present: head to toe, finger tip to finger tip in the Most Blessed Sacrament.

Witnessing the True Presence of Christ here on Earth

Why deepen our faith and relationship with the True Presence of Christ?

When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter,* “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?”* He said to him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.”

John 21:15

Through the Church, the Lord feeds us with Himself at Holy Mass, so that we will have strength for the journey home to Heaven. We can never have a deep enough relationship with the Lord. It is a work in progress all our life. He is the potter, we are the clay. May God’s grace be upon us as we travel on the road to Emmaus with Him, just like the apostle’s, in a very deep and intimate personal relationship in our daily lives, that our eyes may be opened. Then we will be the salt of the earth and the light of the world.

Staying Centered on the True Presence of Christ

Retreats and Studies

Learning how to stay centered on Christ requires us to learn how to listen and discern better what we hear, so that we are tuned in to the Good Shepherd, our Lord Jesus Christ. Learning to pray scripture daily and recognizing the spiritual movements we experience daily in our lives helps us to develop that Christ centered life! The Catholic SALT ministry does just this.
