Learning Christ, Spirituality

Pax…Peace…Shalom…Mir!

It does not matter who you are, or what you believe, we all are seeking peace in our life.   It has taken fifty-one years, but I finally see the light.  To find lasting peace, “not as the world gives…” and “do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid…” as the Lord states in the gospel of John chapter 14 verse 27.   The bottom line is, do you believe?  Do you want to believe?  If you don’t believe then what….???  It is like a world of trying to walk on water in the midst of a storm.  Without His Peace, you cannot do it.  I know.  I have tried.  It does not work.

This site was created from what I have learned through my own faith journey as a mom, wife, daughter and a woman. Coming soon, will be more information and content that will help you find peace, as I did in this very busy, fast paced world.  I finally found the promised land.

I hope you’ll return again soon, so that you too may seek the narrow road that leads to faith, hope love and joy.

In my journey as a mother,  in a world where “normal” is not “normal.”  My son was born with Autism.  How blessed I have become with this motherhood.  If you have a child with Autism, know that God will always give you the grace to walk through your parenthood.  He knows what you need and why He created each man, woman and child.  He knows every hair on our head and our child’s head.

This is not just about motherhood, but it is also about the grace and gift of fatherhood.   The smile of a daughter or son when they see their father’s face.  Parenthood is a gift from above and, “Certainly sons are a gift from the Lord, the fruit of the womb, a reward.” Psalm 127:3  This includes daughters and sons together, as God created both man and woman in his image and likeness.

How does a parent get through the unknown waters of parenting.  The most important thing here is to learn from the perfect parent — God.  We do this by learning to pray, listen and discern.  Once you do that, it becomes a natural part of your being, just like breathing.  That is what a priest told me once.  He said discernment is like breathing.  He is right we have to do it.  Prayer is not just about praising God or petitioning God for something we want or need.  It is about a reciprocal relationship with our Divine Creator and Father.  He knows what the future holds or if that is the wrong road to travel.  So, discernment is exactly like breathing, we can’t live a truly peaceful life without it.  We need the Lord’s intercession to help guide us.  That is why he sent us the best counselor ever, the Holy Spirit.

So, today breathe.  Start by taking a moment to pray.  Start just simply by inviting God into your prayer, start with the Our Father if you know it.  If not just say, “Abba” or “Father.”  Then, sit and be quiet and let God take over.  It is not as hard as we think.  It is our own self that gets in the way.

That’s all for now.  I will share with you the tools through faith and reason I learned through my own faith journey; and have come to love in learning to practice my faith every day through seeking the Lord’s face each day.  May Christ’s Peace be with you today!

“And their eyes were open…” on the road to Emmaus.  May yours be also.
